Lexical blending and cognitive modeling: Developing a theory-driven analytical
database (LEBCOM)

This project investigates lexical blends and splinters from a cognitive linguistics perspective. It will compile a large corpus to create CogBlend, a database that analyzes the cognitive and semantic principles underlying these word-formation processes. The project seeks to identify new trends in lexical innovation and develop resources with applications in translation, lexicography, advertising, and language teaching.
