The I International Conference on Applied Cognitive Linguistics (CLaRe) is an event hosted by the Department of English and German Studies at the University of Valencia.
The conference will take place from 19–21 November 2025 at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication, University of Valencia. CLaRe 2025 will be held in a hybrid format, with opportunities for both in-person and virtual participation.
The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for exchange and debate among researchers, educators, and practitioners interested in the intersection of cognitive linguistics and its applications across a range of fields, including translation, language teaching, figurative language, intercultural communication, discourse analysis, and technology-enhanced language tools.
The theme of the conference, “Cognition in Action: Language, Meaning, and Communication in Context”, highlights the role of language as a core component of human cognition, shaped by perception, memory, emotion, attention, and cultural experience. Emphasizing a usage-based, constructivist, and interdisciplinary perspective, CLaRe 2025 welcomes contributions that explore how linguistic structures and meaning-making processes are grounded in conceptualization, experience, and context.
