Cognition in Action: Language, Meaning, and Communication in Context

University of Valencia (Spain)

November 19 – 21, 2025

We are delighted to announce that the Department of English and German Studies will be hosting the I International Conference on Applied Cognitive Linguistics (CLaRe) in Valencia (Spain). This conference aims to bring together researchers, educators, and practitioners interested in exploring the intersection between cognitive linguistics and its real-world applications across a range of fields including translation, language teaching, figurative language, intercultural communication, discourse analysis, and technology-enhanced language tools.

CLaRe 2025 seeks to highlight the role of language as a core component of human cognition, shaped by perception, memory, emotion, attention, and cultural experience. Emphasizing a usage-based, constructivist, and interdisciplinary approach, the conference invites contributions that focus on how linguistic structures and meaning-making processes are grounded in conceptualization, experience, and context.

Dr. Francisco Gonzálvez García – University of Almería (Spain)

Dr. Francisco José Ruiz de Mendoza Ibáñez – University of La Rioja (Spain)
