Andreea Rosca – Director of CLaRe2025-671 (Universitat de València – IULMA)

Dr. Andreea Rosca is Associate Professor of English Language and Linguistics at the Universitat de València (Spain) and a member of the Interuniversity Institute of Applied Modern Languages (IULMA). She holds an international PhD in Cognitive Linguistics from the University of La Rioja (2012), where she received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in 2015. Her research lies at the intersection of Cognitive Linguistics, corpus linguistics, Construction Grammar, language pedagogy, and English for Specific Purposes, with particular attention to figurative language, translation, and pedagogical applications of cognitive approaches.

She has undertaken funded research stays in the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, Croatia, and Portugal, and has been a guest professor within the Erasmus+ programme in Romania, Turkey, and Poland. Her work has been published in leading journals such as RESLA, Atlantis, Onomázein, ESP Today Journal, and IJES, as well as in edited volumes with publishers like Comares, Tirant lo Blanch, and Peter Lang. She is the author of Phrasal Verbs through the Lens of Cognitive Linguistics (PUV, 2021) and co-editor of several collective works.

In addition to her editorial contributions to international projects such as the Bibliography of Metaphor and Metonymy (John Benjamins) and the Dictionaries of Linguistic Science and Communication (De Gruyter), she has actively participated in national and international research projects, coordinated innovation projects in higher education, and organized international conferences.

Currently, she serves as Secretary of the Spanish Association of Cognitive Linguistics (AELCO) and directs the INNOVALingua-EIA educational innovation group as well as the Cognitive Linguistics applied Research group (CLaRe) at the Universitat de València.
